Biographical Notes in German: Theaterhochschule in Leipzig bis 1955, Theater in Meiningen, Karl-Marx-Stadt und Erfurt, ab 1961 am Deutschen Theater in Berlin. DDR Kunstpreis 1968. Zu seinen bekanntesten Filmen zählt Konrad Wolf's "Der geteilte Himmel".
