Biographical Notes in German: Er studiert in Leningrad am Filmtechnikum und an der Filmfakultät des ì
Instituts für Kunstgeschichte. Erste Erfahrungen als Drehbuchautor und ì
Regie-Assistent sammelt er mit Anfang 20 in der Leningrader Produktionsfirma ì
Sovkino, etwa für LUNA SLEVA 1929 und TRANSPORT OGNJA 1930. Für VETER V LICO ì
über den Jugendverband Komsomol führt er 1930 gemeinsam mit Aleksandr Zarhi ì
erstmals Regie. Die beiden arbeiten bis 1950 zusammen und drehen zum ì
Beispiel 1936/1937 DEPUTAT BALTIKI, einen Film über einen Wissenschaftler ì
während der Oktoberrevolution, der 1946 in Venedig eine Bronzemedaille ì
erhält. Hejfic trägt in der Zeit nach Stalin zur Erneuerung des sowjetischen ì
Films bei (BOL'SAJA SEM'JA 1954, DELO RUMJANCEVA 1956). Mit seinen ì
Literaturverfilmungen wie DAMA S SOBACKOJ 1968 nach Cechov oder ASJA 1978 ì
nach Turgenev gewinnt er internationale Anerkennung. Ein genauer Blick auf ì
die Konflikte der Gegenwart zeichnet die neueren Filme aus: VPERVYE ZAMUZEM ì
von 1980 zeigt die Probleme einer alleinerziehenden Mutter, VY C'E STARIC'E? ì
