She was an Italian Actress, known for La donna nuda (1914), Fior di male (1915), La Marcia nuziale (1915), Lyda Borelli's first movie on record is from 1913. Lyda Borelli died on June 2, 1959 in Roma. Her last motion picture on file dates from 1999.
Biographical Notes in German: Schauspielerin des italienischen Theaters und des frühen Stummfilms, zusammen mit Francesca Bertini und Pina Menichelli eine der drei grossen Diven des italienischen Kinos um 1917. Schwester der Theaterschauspielerin Alda Borelli, erste Theatererfolge in den Stücken von Pirandelli, dann als Partnerin von Virginio Talli und Ruggero Ruggeri.

Mit ihren Filmrollen, oft nach Stoffen von Gabriele d'Annunzio, traf Lydia Borelli genau den Zeitgeist der estorischen Dekadenz des frühen 20. Jahrhunderts. Zu den bedeutenden Filmen zählt auch Rapsodia Satanica von Nino Oxilia. 1918 heiratet sie den Grafen Vittorio Cini und zieht sich vom Kino zurück.
