Pearl White was born under the given name Victoria Evans Wright on March 4, 1889 in Green Ridge, Missouri. She was an American Actress, known for The New Magdalene (1910), Home Sweet Home (1911), The Angel of the Slums (1911), Pearl White's first movie on record is from 1910. Pearl White died on August 4, 1938 in Neuilly, Paris. Her last motion picture on file dates from 1960.
Biographical Notes in German: eigentlich Victoria Evans Wright, trat bereits mit 6 Jahren in "Onkel Tom's Hütte" auf, dann mit 13 als Zirkusartistin. Mit "The Perils of Pauline" wurde sie die ungekrönte Königin des amerikanischen Serials. Nach dem Niedergang dieses Genres zog Pearl White nach Europa, trat in einigen Revuen in Paris und London auf, zog sich schliesslich aus gesundheitlichen Gründen zurück und starb von der Filmwelt vergessen 1938.
Regisseur George Marshall porträtierte ihr Leben 1947 im Film "The Perils of Pauline".
