Aleksandr Ptushko was born on April 18, 1900 in Lugansk. He was a Russian Director, known for Aerograd (1935), Tri vstrechi (1948), Sekretar rajkoma (1942), Aleksandr Ptushko's first movie on record is from 1927. Aleksandr Ptushko died on March 6, 1973 in Moskva. His last motion picture on file dates from 2010.
Biographical Notes in German: Regisseur und Autor des sowjetischen Films, Plechanov-Institut für Wirtschaft in Moskau, 1927 zum Film als Puppenspieler für einen Film von I. Merkulov, im folgenden Jahr erster Zeichntrickfilm. Ptushko kombinierte bald Marionetten und Schauspieler in seinen Filme, und mit "Der neue Gulliver" 1935, dem ersten abendfüllenden Puppentrickfilm, erzielte er auch seinen ersten internationalen Erfolg. Neben der Realisierung optischer Effekte, zum Beispiel für Ivan Pyrjev's "Sekretär des Rayonkomitees" (1942) vor allem Regisseur phantastischer Filme wie "Die steinerne Blume" (1946 in Cannes Preis für den besten Farbfilm), "Sadko" (1952 - Silberner Löwe der Filmfestspiele Venedig) oder "Vij" 1967. Ptushko erhielt unter anderem auch den Stalinpreis und wurde 1969 als Volkskünstler der UdSSR ausgezeichnet. [lhg 2012]
