Biographical Notes in German: Enters cinema in 1902 as one of the first directors and
production managers, working together with Oskar Messte. A
pioneer in producing newsreels (1918), and founds his own
production company in 1920. Many of his films featured
Henny Porten. Produced mostof his own films between 1922
and 1941, together with films of other directors.
