Biographical Notes in German: «Der in Russland geborene Georges Lampin arbeitete am Moskauer Staatstheater, bis er 1921 nach Frankreich übersiedelte, um dort sukzessiv Schauspieler, Produktionsassistent und Regisseur zu werden. Er arbeitete eine Zeit lang als Assistent von Regiegrößen wie Abel Gance, René Clair und Jacques Feyder, bevor er mit "Der Idiot" seinen ersten eigenen Spielfilm drehte. 1956 versuchte er sich erneut an einer Vorlage seines Landsmanns, an Dostojewskis "Schuld und Sühne". Georges Lampin starb im Jahre 1979 in den Pyrenäen.» (arte Presse)
