Biographical Notes in German: Regisseur und Produzent des Deutschen Films, Bruder der Regisseure Ulrich und Thomas Schamon. 1962 Mitunterzeichner des Oberhausener Manifests, in der Folge als Regisseur von "Schonzeit für Füche" und später mit dem Publikumserfolg als Produtent von "Zur Sache Schätzchen" wohl einer der erfolgreichsten Vertreter des sogenannten Jungen Deutschen Films. Ausgewiesener Kenner und Förderer des Werkes voknüpfenn Max Ernst, über welchen er auch einige Filme realisierte. Mit seinen späteren Filme konnte Peter Schamoni nicht mehr an die Erfolge der Sechziger Jahre anknüpfen. (lhg 2011)
