Reviews in German: «(...) Das Preußische Zentral-Polizeiblatt bezeichnet den Film als für Kinder verboten und fügt hinzu: »Die Bauchtanz- und Liebesszenen im II. Akt und die Schlussszene im III. Akt dürfen nicht vorgeführt werden.« Ein Ehebruchsdrama! Ein unglücklicher Ingenieur, der bei einer Kesselexplosion seine Gesundheit verloren; seine Frau behauptet, sie müsste zur Bühne gehen, um Geld für ihn, für seine Pflege zu ersingen. Sie wählt die Kabarettbühne, wo bekanntlich die Kunst wenig, die Frivolität sehr viel zu sagen hat. Sie reist mit einem Komponisten, der sie liebt, und den sie auch liebt, von Stadt zu Stadt. Der Ehebruch ist schon im Herzen, aber der Treueschwur, den sie ihrem Gatten beim Abschiede geleistet, hält sie ­äußerlich in Schranken.
