Reviews in German: «Die Sonne geht noch auf: Neben Roma, città aperta und Paisà der wohl wichtigste Film der unmittelbaren Nachkriegszeit über den Widerstand, zugleich eines der wenigen KP-nahen Werke des ansonsten eher zum Christdemokratischen tendierenden neorealismo. Ein Film also mit einem konkret-marxistischen Klassenstandpunkt statt einer weitgefassten humanistischen Sicht der Dinge, und auch künstlerisch verwoben mit den Einflüssen sowjetischer Modelle der 30er Jahre. Was Aldo Vergano - der mit Schicksal am Lenkrad seine Karriere 1954 in Österreich beendete - allerhand Ärger eintrug: 1946 wollten viele nicht mehr daran erinnert werden, wie zerstritten der Widerstand in Wahrheit war, wie klar er entlang kapitalistischer Interessen strukturiert war; ganz zu schweigen davon, wie viele Italiener de facto kollaboriert hatten.
