In Paris laufen die Vorbereitungen für das glanzvollste Ereignis der Modebranche, die "Prêt-à -Porter"-Shows, auf Hochtouren. Aus diesem Anlass treffen sich in der Seine-Metropole die Modemacher und die Reichen und Schönen aus aller Welt. Während die Couturiers, Models, Modejournalisten, Stars und Sternchen um die Gunst der Drahtzieher im Hintergrund buhlen, wird der umstrittene Vorsitzende der französischen Modedesigner, Oliver de la Fontaine, tot in seiner Limousine aufgefunden. War es ein Unfall oder war es Mord? Jeder ist verdächtig. Schnell verbreitet sich die Nachricht, doch die Modewelt nimmt den Vorfall kaum zur Kenntnis.
