Synopsis in German
Max (M. H.) und Jakob (W. S.), Vagabunden der Großstadt, die sich mit dem Stehlen von Hunden und anderen kleinen Diebstählen über Wasser halten, kommen eines Tages in Teufels Küche, als Max nach einem Diebstahl von der Polizei eingekreist wird. Er flüchtet durch ein offenes Kellerfenster geradewegs in ein Zimmer: Ein bildhübsches Mädchen schläft gerade in dem Bett, in dem Max sich verstecken will. Ilse (J. J.) will nach der Polizei rufen, als diese schon vor der Tür steht. Aus Mitleid gibt sie Max als ihren Freund aus, der die ganze Nacht bei ihr war. Die empörte Wirtin (H. W.) kündigt Ilse fristlos. Ilse übernachtet bei Max, doch der wird von der Polizei gestellt. Nach seiner Entlassung aus dem Gefängnis bleiben beide zusammen. Ilse gewinnt eine Mißwahl im Lunapark. Der Spekulant Bruno (O. W.) macht Ilse Avancen und Max klar, dass er ihrer Karriere im Wege stünde. Max geht verdrossen nach Hause, plötzlich vernimmt er einen Mädchenschrei: Es ist Ilse, die von den feinen Leuten ausgerissen ist. Sie will nun immer bei Max bleiben... (filmarchiv.at)
