Synopsis in German
Professor Munk ist ein angesehener und erfolgreicher Komponist. Nach einer Premiere begegnet er auf der Straße der schönen und skrupellosen Dirne Asta und verfällt ihr voll und ganz. Für sie verlässt er Frau und Kind, tritt mit ihr im Tingeltangel auf, und merkt nicht, dass sie nur seinen Reichtum und seine Berühmtheit ausnutzt. Und während Asta immer mehr aufsteigt, beginnt Munks unaufhaltsamer Abstieg. Schließlich verlässt Asta ihn, seine Frau stirbt, und als er Asta einmal wieder sieht, erwürgt er sie in einem Anfall von Wahnsinn. (www.filmportal.de)
