Synopsis in German
Am Rande des Wiener Opernballs wird der Sohn des russischen Zaren von polnischen Nationalisten gekidnappt. Die Entführer wollen den Zarensohn gegen´das Leben eines in St. Petersburg inhaftierten Landsmannes eintauschen. Baron Stephan Wolensky erhält den Auftrag, ihr Erpresserschreiben an den Zaren zu überbringen. Als Versteck wählt er ein Geheimfach, das sich in einem von zwei kostbaren Kerzenleuchtern befindet. Als Prinz Johann sich kurzfristig anders entscheidet und die Leuchter der ebenfalls nach St. Petersburg reisenden Gräfin Olga Mironova anvertraut, reist Wolensky der Gräfin nach - nichtsahnend, dass die charmante Mironova ebenfalls eine Agentin ist. Auch sie reist mit einem Geheimschreiben nach St. Petersburg, das im Geheimfach des zweiten Leuchters versteckt ist und Wolenskys Todesurteil enthält. (3Sat Presse)
