Synopsis in German
Im Jahre 1630 hält die Inquisition in Moldawien Gericht über die Prinzessin Asa Vajda und ihren Geliebten Igor Javutich. Während Javutich bereits tot in den Fesseln hängt, stehen Asa die Torturen noch bevor. Nachdem sie der Großinquisitor, ihr eigener Bruder, gleichfalls wegen Hexerei und Satanismus zu Tode verurteilt hat, wird sie ausgepeitscht und mit einem Hexenmal gebrandmarkt. Doch bevor ihr der Henker die eiserne Teufelsmaske vor das Gesicht nageln kann, verflucht Asa ihre ganze Familie und schwört zu den Lebenden zurückzukehren, um ihre Rache zu vollenden. Zwei Jahrhunderte später durchreisen der Arzt Dr. Kruvajan und sein Kollege Dr. Gorobec denselben Landstrich Moldawiens und stoßen zufällig auf das Grab der Prinzessin. Als Kruvajan die Teufelsmaske von Asas Gesicht entfernt, kann diese aus dem Totenreich zurückkehren und ihren späten, grausamen Rachefeldzug beginnen.... (Arte Presse)
