Synopsis in German
Jeff Russett hat die Nase voll. Der Leiter eines kanadischen Sägewerks trägt eine schwere Verantwortung auf seinen Schultern, derweil sein Bruder Steve in Europa das Familienvermögen als Schürzenjäger durchbringt. Als Jeff dem Salonlöwen den Geldhahn zudreht, muss Steve wohl oder übel nach Vancouver zurückkehren, wo er in der Firmenleitung zunächst nur Chaos anrichtet. Seit Jahren arbeitet Jeff darauf hin, die Konkurrenzfirma von Jo Barton in die Knie zu zwingen. Doch als der blauäugige Steve arglos einige Verträge verlängert, die dem Konkurrenten das überlebenswichtige Wegerecht zusichern, untergräbt er die von langer Hand eingefädelte Intrige seines Bruders. Außer sich vor Zorn, verbannt Jeff den Nichtsnutz in ein entlegenes Holzfäller-Camp. Dabei wird Steve ins Lager der Konkurrentin Jo Barton verschlagen und ist angenehm überrascht, einer attraktiven Frau zu begegnen. Da Jo nicht ahnt, wen sie vor sich hat, gibt sie dem Fremden die Chance, sich durch ehrliche Arbeit zu profilieren. Dabei lernt Steve nicht nur den Beruf des Holzfällers, sondern auch die hübsche Jo Barton lieben. Als sie erfährt, dass Steve ausgerechnet der Bruder ihres Widersachers Jeff Russett ist, wird ihre Liebe auf eine harte Bewährungsprobe gestellt ... (SWR Presse)
