Bis sie erfährt, dass sie einen Gehirntumor und nur noch drei Wochen zu leben hat. Woraufhin Georgia kündigt, ihre Konten plündert und New Orleans in Richtung Tschechien verlässt. Dort, im mondänen Ski-Hotel Pupp, will sie ein letztes Mal auf den Putz hauen. Aus dem Kaufhaus-Aschenputtel wird eine charmante Society-Prinzessin, die im Angesicht des Todes den Spaß am Leben entdeckt. Zu spät?

Zwar kann es Wayne Wangs Remake des bittersüßen Alec-Guinness-Klassikers "Ferien wie noch nie" von 1950 nicht mit dem Original aufnehmen. Zu sehr trieft das Slapstick-Spektakel vor Kitsch, Klischees und plumpem Klamauk.

Dass die Reißbrett-Romanze trotzdem nicht gänzlich ohne Charme ist, verdankt sie Hauptdarstellerin Queen Latifah. Die einstige First Lady des Hip-Hop ist als Georgia so hoffnungslos sympathisch, dass man ihr eine Menge Blödsinn verzeiht. Long live the Queen! " (Cinema)
