Frei adaptiert nach Leo Tolstojs «Kreutzersonate», erzählt der Film von den Geschehnissen, die einen jungen Mann dazu bringen, die eigene Frau umzubringen - eine berühmte Pianistin, die ihre Karriere aus Liebe zu ihm aufgegeben hatte.
