Synopsis in German
Paris 1919, Kriegsende. In einer Kirche betet ein Mann. Er tötete einen jungen Deutschen – Musiker wie er. Von der Erinnerung verfolgt, begibt er sich ins Dorf des Gefallenen. Der Film – 1932 entstanden – ist eine scharfe Anklage der Kriegsgräuel und zeigt, wie wachsam Lubitsch die Situation in seinem Heimatland verfolgte. (Locarno 2010)
