Synopsis in German
Durch Spielschulden wird der Ingenieur Günther Ellinghaus von zwei französischen Agenten, Baron d’Aubigny und Clemence de Montignon, erpresst, ihnen seine Pläne für den neuen Ikarus-Motor zu übergeben. Er flieht als Kellner nach New York. Als der I. Weltkrieg ausbricht, gelangt Ellinghaus als Schiffsheizer auf einem holländischen Schiff wieder nach Deutschland. Er wird Jagdflieger und die ehemaligen Agenten sind nun seine Feinde. Nach einer Notlandung gerät er zufällig in ihr Hauptquartier. Er entrinnt einem Mordversuch und bringt er seine Widersacher in einem Luftduell zur Strecke. Beide überleben und Ellinghaus reicht ihnen nach Kriegsende die versöhnende Hand. (Deutsche Kinemathek)
