Als Zellengenossin im Gestapogefängnis erlebt die Buchhalterin Else Gebel die letzten fünf Lebenstage der einundzwanzigjährigen Studentin Sophie Scholl, die am 18. Februar 1943 zusammen mit ihrem Bruder Hans in der Münchner Universität verhaftet und am 22. wegen Hochverrats durch das Fallbeil hingerichtet wurde.
Mit Flugblattaktionen - "Die Flugblätter der Weißen Rose" - hatten die Geschwister Scholl und ihre Freunde zum Widerstand gegen das Naziregime aufgerufen.
Else Gebel steht an diesem Donnerstagmittag, 18. Februar 1943, vor der jungen Sophie Scholl. Sie muss die Leibesvisitation machen. Die Gestapo ließ "leichtere" Gefangene mitarbeiten, Else Gebel arbeitete in der Registratur. Sie flüstert Sophie Scholl zu, dass sie auch Gefangene sei.
So beginnt die Geschichte einer Begegnung und eines Abschieds.
Sophie Scholl ist erst skeptisch, abwartend. Else, mit ihrer Begabung zum Helfen, ist sofort von Sympathie erfüllt. (BR Presse)
