Zur Verteidigung einer Dame schlägt der Hotelpage Ward Guisenberry auf der Party des Boxmanagers Nick Donati den amtierenden Weltmeister k. o. und wird als Boxer entdeckt. Aus dem Pagen wird ein Champion. Doch als er sich in die Schwester seines Managers Donati verguckt, scheint es mit der Karriere aus und vorbei. Denn Donati will für seine Schwester auf keinen Fall einen Boxer als Ehemann dulden. Beim Weltmeisterschaftskampf gibt er seinem Schützling im Ring deshalb im entscheidenden Moment falsche Anweisungen. Donatis langjährige Geliebte "Fluff", seit Langem in Kid verliebt, greift ein....
