Synopsis in German
Auf einer China-Reise entdeckt Millionär Mollheim in einem Tempel einen kleinen Götzen, den der Priester ihm nicht verkaufen will. Mollheims Bekannter Gröbner will ihm für die Hand seiner Tochter Else und eine größere Mitgift die Figur beschaffen. Er stiehlt sie und bringt sie Mollheim auf sein Schloss nach Europa. Aber am nächsten Tag wird Gröbner tot in seinem Zimmer aufgefunden, und der Götze ist verschwunden. Gemeinsam mit Kriminalrat Osten ermittelt der junge Privatdetektiv Ralph Robin, der sich in Else verliebt, die des Mordes ebenso verdächtig ist wie Mollheims chinesischer Diener Wu. Osten und Ralph geraten in einem zerfallenen Haus in einen chinesischen Tempel mitten in der Großstadt. Aber um das Rätsel von Gröbners Tod zu lösen, müssen sie zurück auf Mollheims Schloss.
