Hannah (Caroline Peters), die Frau von Kommissar Bäumer (Jörg Schüttauf), ist Kleptomanin und gemiedene Außenseiterin in der provinziellen Eifelkleinstadt. In von der Dorfbevölkerung gemiedene Außenseiterin kennt man sich. Und jeder sorgt dafür, damit das auch so bleibt: Briefträger Enno (Mathias Brandt) erweitert seine Kenntnisse per Fernglas, Rita Frings (Friederike Frerichs) hält mehr von Klatsch und Tratsch oder schreibt anonyme Briefe. Alle sind entsetzt, als der junge Kripobeamte Fischer (Hinnerk Schönemann) auf einer einsamen Landstraße tödlich verunglückt. Ein Reh habe den Unfall verursacht - so jedenfalls steht es im Polizeibericht, und so erzählt es auch der Computerfreak Harald (Enno Hesse), der angeblich Zeuge des Unfalls war. Einzig Arnie (Bruno Schubert), sieben Jahre alt, der während der Osterferien bei seinem Opa Frings (Ernst Alisch) auf dem Bauernhof zu Besuch ist, glaubt etwas anderes gesehen zu haben. Doch nur Hannah nimmt den kleinen Jungen ernst. Auch ihr Mann, Kommissar Bäumer, glaubt ihr nicht. Bis Arnie plötzlich spurlos verschwindet... (ARD Presse)
