Das Erste zeigt bereits zum Jahresbeginn die offizielle Dokumentation des deutschen Teams bei der FIFA Fußball Weltmeisterschaft 2014 in Brasilien. Der Zuschauer begleitet die deutsche Nationalmannschaft noch einmal von der Vorbereitung bis zum Titel durch das komplette Turnier und bekommt dabei exklusive Einblicke und Momente aus dem innersten Kreis der Mannschaft um Lahm, Müller, Neuer, Podolski, Schweinsteiger und Co.
Thomas Müller im rosafarbenen Dirndl, Christoph Kramer als singender Debütant oder Bastian Schweinsteiger am emotionalen Höhepunkt seiner Karriere - die Zuschauer sind ganz nah dran. Anders als bei Sönke Wortmanns WM-Film von 2006 („Deutschland. Ein Sommermärchen") flossen bei der DFB-Eigenproduktion (Regie: Martin Christ, Jens Gronheid und Ulrich Voigt) auch private Handyaufnahmen der Spieler und Betreuer mit ein. Entstanden ist eine 90-minütige Dokumentation mit Humor und Gänsehautfaktor. (ARD Presse)
