Während einer Gerichtsverhandlung kommt es zwischen Rechtsanwalt Dr. Renz und dem jungen Staatsanwalt zu einer scharfen Auseinandersetzung, die fast beleidigende Ausmaße annimmt. Doch wenig später erscheint eben dieser Herr Weiermüller bei Dr. Renz und bittet ihn um Rechtsbeistand. Was er zu erzählen hat, klingt äußerst merkwürdig. Er behauptet nämlich, dass es einen Wagen gibt, der mit der Nummer seines Wagens allerlei Unheil anrichtet, für das Weiermüller dann aufzukommen hat. Renz hält diese Geschichte für reichlich unwahrscheinlich, trotzdem beauftragt er Matula, im Heimatort des Staatsanwalts Recherchen anzustellen. Und tatsächlich stößt Matula auf einige Merkwürdigkeiten, die ihm - und auch Renz - zu denken geben. (Odeon Film)
